Safe driving

Safety, your best ally!

Adopting good driving habits can help prevent accidents. Having your safety at heart, National Bank Insurance has some advice for you to minimize the risk of having an accident.

  • Take the time to properly adjust your headrest.  A headrest that is too low increases the risk of neck injury.

  • Buckle up!  32% of drivers fatally injured between 2005 and 2009 were not wearing a seat belt.

  • Always keep a good distance between your car and the one in front of you.  Courtesy goes a long way on the road!

  • Have good quality winter tires installed.  All vehicles in Quebec must be equipped with winter tires from December 15 to March 15.

  • Respecting speeding limits and signage will help you maintain your good record - and the safety of those travelling with you.

  • When you drive at night, make sure you are alert.

  • Try to stay away from distractions such as your cellular phone, so you can better concentrate on the road.
