Prevention

Because we are not all at risk for the same reasons, you will be given an online form to complete regarding your habits. You will then receive customized recommendations by email or telephone. This advice will help reduce the risk of identity theft. You will also have access to a network of credit specialists and legal experts.

Equifax CompleteTM Monitor

Once you have registered using the activation code mailed to you, you can benefit from the Equifax CompleteTM Monitor services. You will receive an email alert if significant changes are detected in your credit report or if your personal information is circulating on potentially fraudulent sites. When you log on to your Equifax account, you will also have access to your Equifax credit report, credit score and history.

Intervention

If you are ever a victim of identity theft, our network of credit specialists and legal experts will be there to help. Whether you are at home or abroad, we are just a phone call away. 

  • Assistance in contacting the parties concerned (e.g., the police, credit bureau, utilities companies and service providers)
  • Cancellation of identity documents and debit or credit cards
  • Replacement of identity documents and debit or credit cards
  • Access to your credit report so that you can review it
  • Legal assistance over the phone as needed
  • Review of your credit file and credit rating
  • Services for travellers (e.g., urgent translations, assistance in the event of the loss or theft of your debit or credit cards)
