If you think about the increasingly extreme weather conditions paired with your city or municipality’s aging infrastructure, water damage coverage makes a lot of sense.
Sewer Back-Up
Our Sewer Back-Up coverage is there for you in the event that water accidentally backs up from the sewer system into your home. On top of the comfort of being covered, we now include $1,000 for the installation of a sewer back-up loss prevention device after a covered loss occurs.
Water and Sewer Lines
This type of coverage is there to repair or replace the water service line and/or sewer line serving your home in the event of a loss due to a leak, break, tear, rupture or collapse of the line.
Sewer Back-Up and Water and Sewer Lines are great coverages but it if they are the only two coverages appearing under the EWDP on your Coverage Summary page, you’re not covered for certain damages that can occur as a result of a flood or sewer back-up occurring at the same time as a flood, or coverage for water backing up from a storm drain. Overland Water coverage, which is included for customers who qualify, would cover the above losses.
Overland Water (Included for those who qualify)
If your home qualifies, Overland Water is included in your policy. This covers against water damage caused by lake/river, overflow, heavy rain or rapid snow-melt entering your home from a point at or above ground level.
Ground Water (Optional for those who qualify)
Ground Water covers you against damages caused by water entering your home suddenly and accidentally through a basement wall, foundation or floor. Make sure all your bases are covered with this optional coverage.
