Whether you're planning just one trip, several trips over the summer, or a number of trips over the course of the year, Blue Cross has the right coverage for you while you are outside your province.

Some group insurance plans and credit cards offer travel insurance. Find out what you are covered for so that you only purchase the coverage you need.

The Summertime Blue® plan will cover you for all your summer trips, regardless of destination or length. The Annual plan is ideal if you plan to travel more than twice a year. You can also customize your coverage for a single trip.

Available coverage 

The Emergency Medical Care benefit offers coverage of up to $5,000,000 in the event of a medical emergency. You will also have access to 24-hour assistance in your native language, wherever you are in the world.

The following types of coverage are also available, depending on the plan or options you choose:

  • Individual or family coverage
  • Cost of repatriation to country of residence by ambulance or plane
  • Subsistence allowance at the destination
  • Trip cancellation or interruption
  • Accidental death or dismemberment
  • Air flight accident
  • Lost baggage
  • Car rental damage
  • Emergency round-trip transportation

Eligibility criteria

  • A resident of Quebec, New Brunswick or Ontario.
  • Covered by the health insurance plan of your province of residence.
  • Enrolled in travel insurance before your departure date.
  • Certain restrictions and exclusions apply, depending on your age and the product chosen.
  • All products have exclusion clauses linked to pre-existing conditions.
