The base: Civil Liability insurance
Minimum compulsory coverage in Quebec. It covers not only damage you may cause to other people, but also damage to your vehicle in the event of an accident where you are not at fault and this, with no deductible.
Collision or hit-and-run protection
Covers damage to your vehicle if you cause a collision with another vehicle. Also covers damage to your vehicle if you collide with an animal or are the victim of a hit-and-run. Finally, this protection will also cover you if your vehicle tips over.
All perils other than collision protection
